This position is supporting a young adult, female Who has muscular dystrophy, but  has good communication skills. Speaks both English and urdu

Assistance required with hoisting, washing dressing, and daily living tasks. Hours to be negotiated. Preferably need a carer to have some experience in the care environment but it is not essential. Young adult uses cough assist machine, suction machine, ventilator, and cough bags. Other training, such as: how to use all machinery; manual handling; and first aid trained will be given to the right applicant.

5 Day week varying throughout the day

16 to 35 Hours per week.

Duties will include:

Personal

X□  Assistance in and out of bed when required

x□  Assistance getting dressed and undressed

x□  Providing assistance with hoisting on to commode & different chairs or bed

x□  Checking skin condition and applying creams etc.

x□  General grooming and personal appearances

x□  Administering & feeding medicines

x□  Some personal care may be required on occasions

Domestic

x□  Preparing and Feeding snack when required

x□  Support preparing food and drinks if required

x□  Light domestic work if required

x□  Prepare bedroom, ready to put client in bed

x□  Helping to keep house hazard-free, washing up

x□  Assist with sorting out wardrobe & bed making

x□  Keeping medicines, incontinence products, creams, ointments etc in an orderly, hygienic and secure manner. Preparing these for use as required

□  Assist with collecting allowances, prescriptions etc when required

x□  Assist with laundry, bed making, changing bed linen, keeping bed and bedding clean and tidy if required

Social

x□  Assisting me to entertain in my own home as required

x□  Assistance with getting in and out of transport

x□  Providing company and support outside the home e.g negotiating difficult places with steps/stairs etc

x□  Making shopping lists

x□  Communicating

x□  In summer sitting outside in the garden

x□  Removing nail polish

x□  Playing card

x□  Accompany me to social events, meetings, appointments and on shopping expeditions

x□  Assistance with getting to and from my mobility scooter

General

x□  Enable me to carry out my chosen activity whether inside or outside the home by carrying out any other request that I may reasonably make

Working times/hours may vary, therefore flexibility is required. There will also be additional hours covering other staff.

Benefits

Salary: £10.60 per hour

5.6 weeks pro rata holiday allowance
