Carer/Personal Assistant, Bestwood of Nottingham, NOTRD2209

This role consists of supporting a 2 year old boy with a Chromosome deletion and  is 1 year post liver transplant and NG tube fed who lives with his family in his home.

He struggles being separated from mum due to his condition and therefore little opportunity to socialise and develop before now.

The candidate will assist with attendance of hospital appointments with frequent admissions (PA to take over from mum for a couple of hours during the day on these occasions), Physio exercises, NG tube feeding, administering medications, accessing the community without mum present e.g. walking, playgroups, cooking/feeding/helping mum wean, bathing, dressing, nappy changing, assisting with groceries and shopping, basic house keeping/cleaning, basic administration. Respite occasionally needed for mum to attend her other children.

The ideal candidate will have experience and have an understanding, outgoing, caring, positive and calm manner and encouraging in child development.

Must be able to use own initiative and learn routines quickly. Experience of care work would be beneficial but full training will be given.

Working hours - 14 hours per week, times may vary between the hours of 7am-7pm, Monday to Sunday. Flexible hours to be mutually agreed.

Benefits

Salary: £10.76 per hour

5.6 weeks pro rata holiday allowance
